Date: 27 – 28 March 2020
Although not technically in the Lowveld, Lekkerland Carnival is such a popular event we think it’s worth the 2-hour drive to Dullstroom.
Lekkerland combines live music, comedy acts, dance groups, stilt-walkers and jugglers as well as a large selection of stalls, carnival food and a bar. One of our favourite things about this festival is that it’s family-friendly.
White River Carnival
Date: 3 – 4 April
Venue: Laerskool Witrivier
Step right up for the White River Carnival taking place from 3-4 April 2020! This is undoubtedly going to be a fun-filled family event with a variety of entertainment and food, and even an auction.
For those of you who love to stay active, there’s also going to be a 5km glow run – it doesn’t matter if you walk or run as it’s just for fun.

Mpumalanga Wine Show
Date: 3 – 4 April 2020
Venue: Emnotweni, Nelspruit
Calling all wine enthusiasts!
The 11th annual Mpumalanga Wine Show is set to take place on 3 and 4 April 2020 in Nelspruit and will include over 250 of South Africa’s best wines. If a sophisticated evening of wine tasting amidst like-minded people sounds right up your alley, be sure to buy a ticket before they all run out.

BFM at Casterbridge
Date: First Saturday of the month
Venue: Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre in White River
Located at Casterbeidge Lifestyle Centre, the BFM Market takes places on the first Saturday of every month in White River from February onwards.
BFM is a community based market, aimed at supporting small growers and producers to showcase what wonderful products and talent we have on our doorstep.

On 16 May 2020, Hazyview Mpumalanga will be putting on its very own Festival featuring performances from the now world-renown Ndlovu Youth Choir who reached the final in 2019’s American’s Got Talent. In addition to this awe-inspiring act, there will be food trucks, a beer tent, a farmers corner showcasing local produce and some kids entertainment.
Lowveld Air Show

Competing for your attention on 16 May 2020 is the Lowveld Airshow at Nelspruit Airport which is fun for the whole family. Expect some daring dives, skilful tandem flying and a host of other entertainment. Keep an eye on their Facebook Page for updates.

One of the most popular events of the entire year, Innibos Kunstefees takes place between 24-27 June 2020. We are excited to see this year’s lineup of live music, theatre performances, literature and artists present their talents at this annual family event.
In addition, approximately 200 arts and crafts and food stalls as well as beer gardens and a designated children’s area. As Innibos attracts over 100,000 visitors each year, we recommend purchasing tickets tout suite!
Vodacom Hippo Hollow MTB Challenge

Mark your calendar and join us for an action-packed getaway at the Vodacom Hippo Hollow Challenge. Explore spectacular scenery along the Sabie River during the annual Vodacom Hippo Hollow MTB Challenge held at Elephant Whispers in Hazyview.
The annual race is characterised by lush, unspoilt surroundings with single tracks along the Sabie River giving way to indigenous forests and macadamia plantations, offering views that make this race one not to miss. Last year, the riders even passed through the restaurant at Hippo Hollow Country Estate, giving breakfast goers the opportunity to cheer the cyclists on.
The 2019 Vodacom Hippo Hollow CHallenge has 4 cycling events – a 60km, 40km, 19km and an 8km distance. Runners will also be able to enjoy 4km or 8km trail routes.
Lowveld Mac & Trade Show

The Lowveld Macadamia Festival is a celebration of the industry, role players, consumers and all stakeholders in the value chain of Macadamias in South Africa.
